Since launching Austin Angels in 2010, Susan has led the organization from a grassroots initiative to a scalable, sustainable model with 19 chapters across 14 states. What began as a single program in Central Texas has grown into a national movement, fueled by a committed team of 123 staff members, thousands of volunteers, and steady year-over-year growth in operating revenue. Blending heart with hard work, Susan brings strategic clarity, operational discipline, and a deep sense of purpose to every aspect of the organization.
Motivated by her personal experience as a foster parent, Susan and her team created innovative, research-informed programs, Love Box® and Dare to Dream®, designed to provide consistent, relational, and practical support to children, youth, and caregivers. Her bold vision: to reach every child and youth experiencing foster care by 2050 and empower them to reach their full potential. Before stepping into the nonprofit sector, Susan built a successful career in corporate America at PulteGroup, where she developed a strong foundation in communication, leadership, sales, and operational excellence. Skills she has since leveraged to build and scale a mission-driven organization. Susan lives in Buda, Texas with her husband, their two sons, and their Goldendoodle, Chloe. They enjoy spending quality time outdoors and can often be found in the backyard or at the ballfield. Susan believes that every child deserves at least one healthy adult who knows the color of their eyes and the passions of their heart. She remains fiercely committed to creating a world where everyone feels a deep sense of belonging and hope for the future, and she won’t stop until every child is reached. |
